Assistant Relationship Manager – London

Our Client is the technology arm of a UK bank which has a large asset finance business. This successful Technology Services business has been established for 3 years and has put in place a team of direct sales people who have made excellent ground in the SME market.
They are looking to advance that growth by adding to the team with a Assistant Relationship Manager in their London office.

Key Responsibilities:

The Assistant Relationship Manager will report to the Regional Sales Director and the purpose of the role is to support the company’s Relationship Directors/Managers (“RD/M”) in their development of the company in its target market sector, enhancing awareness and understanding of the services and products the company can provide. The Assistant Relationship Manager will be supporting the company’s sales team to meet their objectives, which include:

  • Delivery of volume, margin and service income by way of the provision of timely and innovative business solutions through a range of the company’s products
  • Provision of product and lending solutions that meet client needs, delivering maximum income for the company’s and satisfy risk quality parameters and standards
  • Driving new business development from an assigned, geographically based territory
  • Consistently apply a Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) approach in relation to providing the products and services offered
  • Work collaboratively, effectively, efficiently and accurately within the prescribed sales process in order to ensure a seamless delivery to our customers
  • Engage the appropriate support from within the company to assist in developing and delivering the appropriate solution to satisfy customer requirements
  • Specifically support the RD/M in the preparation and submission of credit applications, being the point of contact all queries regarding proposals whether from internal or external sources
  • Put the customer first; passionately engaging with customers, stakeholders, internal and external colleagues
  • Demonstrate a good knowledge of the full company product range; clearly articulate the product suite and identify where and how these products deliver an appropriate solution to meet customer requirements
  • Engage, influence and collaborate with colleagues, working closely together for mutual benefit and in order to utilise existing business relationships to support and drive the company’s proposition

Skills/ Experience

  • Experience of operating a within a B2B role, preferably within the asset finance market
  • Good IT skills, preferably with experience of CRM, workflow systems and Excel
  • Some knowledge and appreciation of credit / risk and balance sheet analysis desirable
  • For Senior Assistant Relationship Manager Role, demonstrable credit analysis skills and experience. Some form of formal accreditation desirable.
  • The ability to work as part of a team with some experience of participation in a deal team environment
  • Experience of working with and managing the expectations of key stakeholders and the ability to build strong, working relationships based on trust and credibility is required
